Nova Skipp

Nova Skipp - Cabaret

Nova began her career as a cabaret singer, firstly as part of the duo, Nova & Lee, then as a solo vocalist.

After training in Musical Theatre at the Arts Educational Schools, she developed her act and played venues such as Oscar’s Bar in Leicester Square and Centrestage on Seven Dials.

She sang with her own jazz trio at the Park Lane Hotel and Quaglinos Restaurant in the West End. She also performed as part of the Jermyn Street Jewels season at Jermyn Street Theatre, followed by the Pizza On the Park in Knightsbridge, where she presented When I Look at You, based on the life and music of Frank Wildhorn (composer of Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Bonnie & Clyde).

In 2001, Nova’s career took her to Germany to play Jellylorum in Cats. Whilst in Stuttgart, she regularly sang on the showbühne in the S.I. Centre, as well as at galas and corporate events.

In 2004, she performed concerts at prestigious hotels throughout Switzerland and France, as Soprano with the group West End Live, singing music from Bernstein to Lloyd Webber.

Christmas 2005 saw Nova entertaining the passengers aboard the Saga Rose cruise ship, as they toured the Canary Isles. By way of contrast, in 2008, she sang to visitors from all around the globe, as they admired the sights of London from City Cruises.

She has performed with groups such as Incognito Artists and So Productions, at fantastic venues, including Madame Tussauds and the Grosvenor House Hotel. She has also had the chance to appear as guest vocalist on several occasions for the wonderful Piccadilly Dance Orchestra.

Nova continues to sing in cabaret at top West End venues, including recently at such venues as The Pheasantry on Chelsea’s King’s Rd and Crazy Coqs at Brasserie Zedel in the heart of Piccadilly.

Also, over the last few years, under the banner of her own company, Skipp Productions, Nova has developed a one woman concert, The Sound of Julie, a tribute to the life and music of Dame Julie Andrews, in which she plays the title role.
